Since 2021, the Jeju National Museum has been presenting immersive videos about Jeju that are produced through a convergence of new technologies.
The three videos “Drifting in the Sea : Dreaming of What Lies Beyond,” “A Landscape to Contemplate : Jeju Island in Cinematic Poetry,” and “Yeongjusipgyeong : Ten Scenic Places in Jeju,” are played every fifteen minutes in the Immersive Digital Gallery at the Jeju National Museum.

Jang Han-cheol (1744year) was a native of Jeju Island.
On his way to the mainland to take the civil service examination in 1770, his boat was driven off course by a storm and ended up far out in the southern waters.
The immersive video Drifting in the Sea : Dreaming of What Lies Beyond recreates Jang’s experience with vivid digital art, providing viewers with a sense of what it must have been like to hold on to hopes and dreams in the face of great hardship.

A Landscape to Contemplate: Jeju Island in Cinematic Poetry allows viewers to immerse themselves in the awe-inspiring natural scenery formed at the time of the creation of Jeju and in the eternal prayers for the final repose of the deceased expressed through stone child attendants.

He traveled around the island and chose ten beautiful scenic spots.
They were collectively called Yeongjusipgyeong.
