Three kilometers to the northeast of the heart of Jeju City, Jeju National Museum is located within Sarabong Park, which can be accessed by Local Circular Road connecting Jeju-Jocheon-Seongsan-Pyoseon-Seogwipo. Adjacent to the museum is Udang Library, and Jeju National University to the east. The museum commands a spectacular view of the Mt. Hallasan's to the south.

Referred to as "Sabong nakjo," the sunset from Sarabong Peak on the seaside cliff, which overlooks the Port of Jeju, is so beautiful that it is widely considered one of the Yeongju sipgyeong - the ten best scenes of Jeju.
