Jeju’s wonderful winding batdam

The stone walls that were built between fields to protect agricultural products from the fierce winds, as well as to keep animals from entering the fields and trampling the crops, were called “bat-dam” (field walls). From far away, the black stones seeming to stretch on without end look like a black dragon, so they were also described using the phrase “the ten thousand-li black dragon”.
