Doldam(Stone Wall)

Jeju was referred to as “samdado”, meaning “the island of three abundances”: lots of wind, lots of rocks, and lots of women. It was common for wind damage to affect crops and make property lines unclear, so the people of Jeju piled up the rocks that came out of the ground when they plowed their fields to make stone walls. They say that even a typical typhoon is no match for a Jeju stone wall.
