60. Shaman’s Tool of Jeju Island

내용보기

Mugu, or divination tools, are used by shamans when performing healing ceremonies known as gut and divinations called jeom. In shaman rituals of Jeju, shamanic mirrors, handheld bells, and divining boards were important objects. Handheld bells were used to invoke deities. Shamanic mirrors and boards were used for performing divinations. Ceremonies always had musical elements and often used instruments such as the janggu, a double-headed drum, as well as other types of drums and gongs of small and large sizes.
