Portrait of Kim Jeonghui
This is a portrait of Kim Jeonghui created by Kim Seokik to honor the late master calligrapher. When Kim Jeonghui was exiled to Daejeong-hyeon in Jeju from 1840 to 1849, he not only perfected his renowned calligraphic style later known by his name, but also mastered his scholarly endeavors in Confucian teaching. During his stay, he also took in numerous pupils. His artistic, scholarly, and pedagogic achievements have won him respect as a teacher and also greatly influenced the local culture of Jeju.
