52. Portrait of Choe Ikhyeon

내용보기
 Portrait of Choe Ikhyeon

This is a portrait of Choe Ikhyeon (1883-1906), who was a Confucian scholar during late Joseon. The portrait was painted by Chae Yongsin in 1905, a renowned painter who also painted the royal portrait of King Gojong. With his deep-set wrinkles, tightly closed lips and far-searching eyes, the painting successfully depicts the dignity of Chae in his old age as the leader of the righteous army.
