Tamna Jidobyeongseo – A Map of Jeju
This large map of Jeju made in 1709 shows detailed inscriptions of Mt. Halla at the center as well as various volcanic hills, forests, villages, and harbors. At the top and bottom of the map are also inscriptions listing each county or district’s history, administrative units, population, military capacity, finances, as well as famous scenic or historical sites. The compass point faces Seoul; hence, North is at the bottom of the map.
